Vancouver is a tech and gaming town that also happens to sit between the mountains and the ocean. The convention centre on Coal Harbour hosts large tech conferences, the game studios run their own community events, and every summer the PNE brings crowds to Hastings Park.
The audiences here tend to be outdoorsy and design-conscious. A well-made hat or crewneck printed in front of them goes over far better than a logo pen.

Planning around the rain
From October to March, plan on rain. We keep outdoor stations under cover with sidewalls, keep blanks sealed until they're on the press, and push for indoor setups whenever the venue allows.
Canada runs on 120V, so our equipment plugs straight in. Gear crosses the border on an ATA Carnet and ships ahead, and the crew flies up from Los Angeles the day before the build.
Merch Troop is based in La Habra, California. We run live printing across the US and travel internationally when the event is right, and Vancouver jobs get the same crew and the same process.

Good to know
Do you come up from the US for Vancouver events?
Yes. Merch Troop is based in La Habra, California, and travels internationally. Vancouver is a short flight, and our 120V equipment works there as-is.
Can you run outside in the rain?
Yes, under proper cover. We bring tents with sidewalls and keep blanks dry. If the venue has an indoor option, we'll usually recommend it between October and March.
How much notice do you need?
Six to eight weeks is comfortable. That allows time for the carnet paperwork, freight and venue approvals.
